Up in the Air

23rd February 2015

Southern Fried Soprano

It’s been almost a month since I last posted. My absence was not intentional, but such absences never are. Where have I been?

Where haven’t I been seems a more appropriate question. I’ve spent probably 25 of the last 30 days in a variety of airports, rental cars, and hotels across the eastern half of the United States.

Over the course of my travels so far, I:

Southern Fried Soprano - speeding ticketgot my first (and hopefully only) speeding ticket

Walters Art Museum - Baltimore

got inspired by some masterpieces at the Walters Art Museum

hot pocket lip burn

managed to burn my lip on scorching Lean Pocket filling right before two auditions

Georgeanne Yehling and Voltaire at the Walters Art Museum

got super cozy with my man Voltaire

shamed a whole lot of people acting like dinkuses at the airport

Washington Monument

took every opportunity to be a giant, annoying tourist

boston cream pie

ate a bunch of delicious food, both low-brow and high-brow

audition selfie

sang a whole lot, learned a whole lot, and took a whole lot of audition selfies.

I have one more trip to take. Things are very up in the air, both literally and metaphorically. It’s an exciting time in my life. Who knows where I’m going to be this time next year?

Half of me wants to know right now. The other half is just trying to enjoy the ride and view from way up here.
